Iraqis Bodies is a contemporary dance group led by the Iraqi choreographer Muhanad Rasheed whose members met during their studies The Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad. The group Iraqis Bodies was created as a first dance company in Iraq, however their first choreography Crying of my Mother (2007) originated in Jordan and Syria, where the artist were obliged to emigrate due to the complicated situation in Iraq. Their style is a combination of Western dance techniques and traditional Japanese and Iraq folklore dances. Currently the artists live in Holland and work on their new piece called Insomnia.
