La Macana is a company based in Galicia, Spain, formed in 2009 by Caterina Valera and Alexis Fernández who after performing together in different companies (Experimentadanza, Centro Coreográfico Galego, Casa Hamlet and Entremans) decided to co-operate as a choreographic tandem together.
The first work created by Alexis Fernandéz was a duet VEN, a piece relased in March 2008 in Havana (still within Etremans production) where it received the 1st Prize, Audience and Critics Award. This piece has been afterwords presented in different countries. The first independent production of La Macana was the performance SHURE PG48 released in 2010. The choreographers has also collaborated with EMBER company (Laura Arís and Jorge Jáuregui) on the quartet COLA DE GALLO that was premiered in Spain in May 2010.
