The association´s bodies
The statutory body and the administrative and supervisory bodies of Tanec Praha civic association:
Tanec Praha civic association was founded in 1991: the registration at the Ministry of Interior was effectuated on 13. 11. 1991 under the number VSC/1-8507/91-R, IČ 44268211. The regulations of the association say the following:
“The primary mission of the association is to organize, on regular annual basis, international and national festivals of dance and movement theatre creation including additional programme (seminars, workshops, forums for professional and critics, etc.) on the highest possible professional level in terms of artistic quality as well as in terms of organization and to run spaces where production and creation of dance art and related genres that mutually influence and support one another takes place. Besides the organization of festivals and running spaces, the all year long activities of the association consist of establishing and developing international contacts in the realm of dance creation, dance pedagogy, dramaturgy, choreography, and other artistic disciplines. As such the association contributes to the development of dance art and movement theatre in the Czech Republic. The association’s primary concern is the support of original, auteur creation of independent Czech artists.”

The inspector
The chief body of the association is the general assembly. Each member of the association has an equal voting right. The general assembly ratifies the association’s regulations and all amendments to these, elects and calls off the president of the association, respects the members of the artistic board, comments on the activities of the administrative board as well as the activities of the managers/directors of the association, comments on the economy and the accountancy of the association, and evaluates the activities of the association.
The administrative board is composed of at least four members of the association. The administrative board is entitled to decide about the following:
a) the ratification of the budget
b) the ratification of the annual report on activities and economy
c) dispose with the immovable property of the association
d) issue internal regulations of the association unless another body of the association is in charge of this
The administrative board monitors all activities of the association during the periods between the general assembly sessions.
The administrative board appoints managers/directors who are in charge of running the organization and who have an overall responsibility for the implementation of individual activities of the association. The managers/directors represent the association in questions concerning the activities they are in charge of.
The managers/directors decide about the height of financial amounts destined to individual activities of the association as well as about all questions related to the artistic direction of the association – the latter is done by the managers/directors in co-operation with the advisory body, the artistic board. The managers/directors also carry out, following the instructions of the president of the association, material for the annual report on activities and economy: the report is presented by the managers/directors and the president of the association to the administrative board and the general assembly of the association. The managers/directors are responsible for the execution of the financial report, and, if necessary, an audit. The members of the artistic board are renowned professionals and artists. One can be a member of the association and a member of the artistic board at the same time. The role of the artistic board is to advise and to represent the association. The artistic board is co-responsible for the artistic concept of festivals and other activities of the association.
The inspector stands for an auditing body of the association. She/he is recommended and elected by the general assembly of the association.
The inspector´s activities and responsibilities are the following:
a) he/she inspects whether the decisions of the president of the association and the administrative board are implemented
b) he/she examines the financial report and the annual report of the association
The inspector is obliged to inform the administrative board about any errors or imperfections and report to it at least once a year about his or her inspecting activities.
The inspector´s function entitles him or her to:
a) access to bookkeeping documents, reports of administrative board sessions as well as other documents concerning the association´s activities
b) propose measures aimed at adjustment of errors or imperfections
c) call an exceptional meeting of the administrative board aimed at discussing serious issues concerning the association and that provided the president of the association doesn´t do so within ten days after being asked to do so by the inspector
d) participate at meetings of the administrative board and express his or her views on the issues discussed within these provided he or her is asked to do so
