A dance-theatre project treating on the issue of faith and revolution. In an extreme life situation we search for faith (in something/someone) or we revolt against established values to find a brand new faith. The spectator watches the piece from a position on the border of two different worlds. From between two parallel solos that are based on one another, that are two parts of one cycle. It’s purely up to you what you decide to watch.
The title GODverdommeFREEDOM is a pun combining the Holland swearword “godverdomme” (that could be loosely translated as “oh my fucking god” into English) and the word “freedom”. It is, however, two words that are stressed out: GOD and FREEDOM. Though being separated by the word “verdomme”, they strongly relate to one another: you can be free with god or you can turn away from god – you can revolt. Nevertheless, such a personal revolution only lasts until you find a new god.
